Yamim Noraim Melody Workshop for Families led by Jacky Chernett: Start: 27/07/2010 - 17:00 End: 27/07/2010 - 17:00 Yamim Noraim Melody Workshop for Families led by Jacky Chernett: This year I want to involve some of our melodically enthusiastic children to take part in High Holydays services by leading some or parts of a melody. In this way, they will develop a love for our shul music and liturgy. I am holding two evenings at my house (that’s where a decent piano is!) at 5 pm on both Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th July. It occurred to me that not only can children take part but it would be wonderful to encourage a family to ‘take on’ a piyut and lead it. That means parents, siblings, grandparents, if they like. I will teach them and make recordings. It is a great project for our 10th anniversary – our 10th Yamim Noraim as Kol Nefesh. One piece won’t take too long to learn and we have a month.
